Dozens Gunned Down at Kashmir Picnic Spot

Gunmen killed at least two dozen people when they shot at tourists visiting a scenic area in Pahalgam town, located in Indian-controlled Kashmir. Many others suffered injuries during the attack, with several fighting for their lives in hospitals.

Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of the region, said this attack was much worse than other recent acts against ordinary people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised India would catch those responsible, showing the country remains firm against terror groups. Home Minister Amit Shah called an urgent security meeting in Srinagar after the violence.

Security forces rushed to the area as army troops joined police officers at the scene. Nobody has stepped forward to say they carried out these shootings. The Kashmir area has seen fighting since 1989, though violence has become less common recently.

Officials continue looking into what happened during the attack on the domestic tourists. The public waits for more details as authorities keep working on their investigation. Both locals and visitors feel shocked about this sudden return to violence in a place known for its natural beauty.
