Dplus KIA delays player salaries as the sale process unfolds

A major esports club hit a cash wall, and Dplus KIA is scrambling through a business reset after revealing delayed player pay and a search for new ownership.

The Korean organisation said a one-month roster salary delay came from money flow issues during talks with a possible majority buyer. It hired an M&A advisory firm, while also exploring other qualified buyers to keep the transition moving.

Dplus KIA framed the sale effort as a move toward bigger global ambitions. Players and coaches stayed in training after receiving advance notice. The LCK team also faces contract risks if payment problems continue.

Financial reports showed revenue falling to about $5.3M and losses reaching roughly $2.3M. While rivals T1 and NS RedForce posted profitable results, Dplus KIA had recently secured deals with Nutri D-DAY, AndaSeat, and Logitech G.
