Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw condemned the dismissal of Charlotte Osei from the Electoral Commission chairpersonship under former President Akufo-Addo. The National Democratic Congress National Women's Organiser characterized the petitioners as anonymous figures who denied Osei proper defense opportunities. Osei became Ghana's first female Electoral Commission leader before her 2018 removal alongside deputies Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwaa. Anonymous workers filed corruption allegations against the commissioners in 2017, citing unauthorized contract terminations with Superlock Technologies Limited and questionable payments to Dream Oval totaling $76,000. The investigative committee recommended dismissing all three officials after examining claims of misconduct and administrative irregularities.
