Dr Tembo fires up Zomba students to chase dream careers

Dr. Dorothy Tembo, a professor at the University of Malawi, wants high school students in Zomba to start dreaming big about their futures. She's urging them to hit the books hard so they can actually make those dreams come true.

Dr. Tembo shared this knowledge at a conference for secondary school students put together by Everlasting Life Ministry. The whole thing was about "transforming yourself to transform others." She credited the ministry with setting up the event because it helps kids set their sights on serious career goals.

The professor's message was pretty simple: put God first and work your butt off in school. That way, you can ace your Malawi School Certificate of Education exams and snag a spot at a government university. The competition for those MSCE scores is no joke, so she really hammered home how important it is to crush it in the classroom.

Apostle James Chikopa, the head honcho of Everlasting Life Ministry in Malawi, was also all about the conference. He thinks it's going to inspire these kids to step up their game at school and take their faith to the next level. He also wants them to actually use what they learned at the conference in real life.

Patience Chikandila attends Zomba Urban Day Secondary School and was pretty jazzed about the whole thing. For her, the conference was a total game-changer. It made her feel like she's got a real shot at an awesome career if she puts in the work.

She's rallying her classmates to start excelling in their studies and making God their number one priority. Patience thinks that if they do that, there's no telling how far they can go.
