Dying Light Beast Brings Insane Zombie Carnage

Kyle Crane returns to action after thirteen years of captivity and brutal experiments. The hero escaped his prison and seeks revenge against those who tortured him. Players will control a meaner version of Crane who feels angry at the world around him. His parkour skills remain sharp but he fights with more violence against humans and zombies. The character shows bitter emotions as he battles through dangerous situations.

Techland created Dying Light: The Beast as a standalone game rather than downloadable content. The adventure offers about 20 hours of main story gameplay. Side missions and extra activities double the total playtime to around 40 hours. Developer Tymon Smektała says the game features improved graphics and weather effects. The studio wanted to release games more frequently using a three to four year development cycle.

The forest setting removes many parkour escape routes that players used before. Crane cannot easily jump between buildings when surrounded by enemies at night. Volatiles chase players through dark woods where flashlights provide limited visibility. The environment creates more tension as zombies run at the same speed as the hero. Military troops with advanced weapons control parts of the region.
