Dzulkefly Ahmad to replace your doctor with an AI program

Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad wants doctors and nurses across Malaysia to start using smart computer programs to help sick people get better faster. The government plans to put artificial intelligence technology in hospitals and clinics to tackle big health problems like crowded cities, different types of diseases, and people who cannot get proper medical care. Ahmad says the computer programs will not replace human doctors but will help them spot illnesses early and use medical supplies better. The minister posted his plans on Facebook and told everyone that technology will make healthcare fairer for all Malaysians. He believes smart computers can help doctors make better decisions when treating patients.

Medical centers around the country have already started testing the new technology with 80 clinics using cloud computer systems to manage patient records. Another 230 clinics and 22 hospitals have switched to electronic medical files instead of paper ones. The National Institutes of Health has been building computer programs that can spot Covid-19, eye problems from diabetes, and leprosy. Scientists are also creating a special secure computer system where researchers can work together safely. Ahmad says the government cannot make these changes happen alone and needs help from doctors, scientists, and other leaders to make the plan work.
