EA begins its systematic destruction of Battlefield 6 gunplay

EA reported record-breaking participation numbers for the Battlefield 6 Open Beta following its conclusion. Players engaged in 420,127,450 matches and logged 92,351,578 hours of gameplay during the testing period. The Assault class attracted 32 percent of participants, while Support drew 26 percent, Engineer claimed 23 percent, and Recon appealed to 19 percent of users. Support class players achieved 7,453,121 eliminations using defibrillators throughout the beta phase.

Battlefield Studios plans multiple adjustments before the October 10, 2025 launch date based on player feedback and behavioral analysis. Map boundaries will receive modifications to prevent exploitative flanking maneuvers that allowed players to circumvent intended combat zones. Weapon systems will undergo rebalancing efforts, with the M87A1 shotgun losing its single-shot elimination capability. Movement mechanics face significant alterations as developers reduce horizontal speed and impose stricter jumping penalties while decreasing accuracy during slides and jumps.
