EA Scraps Black Panther Yet Iron Man Game Lives On

EA shut down Cliffhanger Studios and killed its Black Panther video game project. The company canceled the game development after working on it for some time. Fans worried about other Marvel projects like the Iron Man game. EA promised to make three Marvel games back in 2022. The gaming giant wants to keep that promise despite the recent closure.

Both companies told reporters their business relationship stays solid. Marvel Games spoke about continuing their creative partnership with EA. The Iron Man game development continues at Motive Studios. EA plans to finish all three promised Marvel titles. Laura Miele from EA confirmed the multi-game deal moves forward.

Motive Studios must create two more Marvel games after Iron Man releases. The studio has skilled developers who make quality single-player experiences. Their Iron Man game success will decide if EA makes more Marvel content. Poor sales could end the remaining projects just like other superhero games failed. Motive faces the same situation as Respawn with their Star Wars games.

EA might stop making licensed games after finishing these Disney deals. Andrew Wilson discussed moving away from franchise-based titles. The company wants to focus on original content instead of borrowed characters.
