Eleven people died when a terrible crash happened early Monday on the Accra-Kumasi Highway near Amanase. The accident took place around 5 AM between a Sprinter bus going toward Kumasi with license plate GW 6510-23 and a fuel tanker marked GR 1300-16. People who saw it said the tanker driver fell asleep at the wheel and moved into the wrong lane, hitting the bus head-on. All eleven deaths happened right at the crash site.
Suhum fire service teams came quickly to help after the crash.
