Eleven people died when a terrible crash happened early Monday on the Accra-Kumasi Highway near Amanase. The accident took place around 5 AM between a Sprinter bus going toward Kumasi with license plate GW 6510-23 and a fuel tanker marked GR 1300-16. People who saw it said the tanker driver fell asleep at the wheel and moved into the wrong lane, hitting the bus head-on. All eleven deaths happened right at the crash site.
Suhum fire service teams came quickly to help after the crash. Many passengers suffered bad injuries—some very serious—and went to the Suhum Government Hospital for care.
