Early Ryzen 9000G Leak Teases Faster RDNA 35 Graphics

AMD builds fresh computer chips called Ryzen 9000G APUs for desktop computers. These new processors will take the place of current Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G models. The company tests these chips before they hit store shelves. A test version showed up recently on a computer benchmark website called FurMark. The sample chip earned 1,097 points on the graphics test.

This score matches what people see from the Radeon 780M graphics that comes with the Ryzen 7 8700G processor. Both chips use 12 graphics processing units to handle visual tasks. AMD plans to upgrade the new chips with better graphics technology called RDNA 3.5. The fresh design will support up to 16 graphics units instead of just 12. This change should make games run faster and look better.

Early tests show the new chips perform about 10 to 22 percent better than older models. The improvement depends on which game someone plays. Computer memory speed limits how fast these graphics can work. Integrated graphics chips need quick access to system memory to perform well. The AM5 platform that these chips use cannot support the fastest memory modules available today.

The test chip used 47 watts of power during operation. AMD has not shared details about how many processor cores the final products will have. The company also keeps clock speeds and official product names secret for the moment. These early numbers might change before AMD releases the finished processors to customers.
