Eighteen Bulawayo schools get new heads as PSC finalizes education appointments

Government officials completed recruitment efforts that placed new leadership at eighteen Bulawayo educational institutions. The Public Service Commission had earlier advertised positions for school administrators and inspectors across Zimbabwe. Officials confirmed appointments for eighteen principals, twenty-seven deputy administrators, and thirty educational inspectors within the province. Mrs Sihle Sibanda received an appointment as principal of Mpopoma High School, representing the sole secondary institution to gain new leadership. Seventeen primary schools welcomed newly appointed principals through the promotion process.

The commission filled deputy positions at eight secondary schools and nineteen primary institutions throughout Bulawayo. Educational inspectors received assignments covering various specializations such as infrastructure development and guidance services. Original vacancy announcements revealed the need for three secondary principals, seven deputy administrators, thirteen primary principals, and forty-one deputy principals. Despite recent appointments, the province maintains unfilled positions for two secondary principals, twenty-four primary deputies, and nine inspector roles requiring future recruitment efforts.
