Epic rolls out Unreal Engine 5.7

Unreal Engine 5.7 has been released, introducing several new features and improvements for developers. The update promotes the MegaLights feature to Beta, enabling a greater number of dynamic lights for realistic soft shadows and richer game worlds. A new experimental Nanite Foliage system allows for the efficient rendering of complex natural elements like tree canopies at stable frame rates.

The release also includes a production-ready Procedural Content Generation framework with enhanced performance and a new Editor Mode. The Substrate system for creating layered materials is now also considered production-ready. Additionally, an integrated AI Assistant provides developers with in-Editor guidance, code generation, and answers to queries without requiring them to exit the application.
