Epic tosses Styx games free to hype the next one

Epic Games just gifted everyone two goblin stealth simulators to promote a sequel. The digital shop listed Styx: Master of Shadows alongside Shards of Darkness for zero dollars on PC. Nacon clearly wants to build hype before Blades of Greed arrives next month on consoles and computers. Gamers need to grab these titles quickly to keep them forever.

This specific giveaway, interestingly, includes the fancy Deluxe version of the second game. Cyanide Studio likely hopes getting people hooked on earlier entries will boost sales for the fresh release. Users can also find a playable demo elsewhere to test the mechanics immediately.

Early impressions suggest the new project allows massive freedom during quiet operations. Previews mentioned scaling buildings and using verticality to dodge enemies completely. The sandbox structure apparently lets players handle objectives however they choose. New gadgets like grappling hooks supposedly make traversing the map much smoother.

Combat scenarios reportedly offer multiple ways to eliminate targets in tight areas. Fans can poison food or use skill trees to clear rooms silently. While the older releases were never perfect, the genre really lacks competition lately. Everyone should probably claim this bundle while it remains free.
