Equity Bank Uganda poaches Serumaga to fix its problems

Equity Bank Uganda just picked a new top executive to run their business operations. Claver Serumaga landed the executive director job after working at banks across Africa for more than twenty years. The experienced banker will take charge of the Commercial Banking Division and help the company grow bigger. Bank officials believe Serumaga brings the right skills to push their services forward. His appointment starts immediately as the financial institution expands its reach.

Serumaga ran NCBA Bank as the chief executive during his time working across Tanzania. He also held senior positions at Bank of Africa Kenya as deputy managing director before moving to other roles. The new executive director once oversaw digital changes at sixteen different African countries for Bank of Africa Group. He started his banking career at Bank of Africa Uganda where he managed business development projects. These jobs gave him deep knowledge about commercial banking and technology improvements.

The banker studied at two major universities to build his professional credentials. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from University of Cape Town located across South Africa. Serumaga also completed his Bachelor of Arts studies at Makerere University right here at home. The marketing expert became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing based across the United Kingdom. Chairman Marik Ocitti praised the appointment and expects Serumaga to strengthen their leadership team moving ahead.
