ESO Worm Cult Takeover Shakes Up Solstice

The Elder Scrolls Online launched its biggest update today on computers. Players can explore Solstice, a new island zone off southern Tamriel. The Worm Cult returns as the main enemy after years away from the game. Developers created a Mediterranean tropical setting that looks different from other areas. A mysterious wall made of souls covers half the island.

Subclassing arrives as the most important new feature for veteran players. Characters above level 50 can learn skills from other classes through special quests. Each player can only pick one skill line from each available class. These borrowed skills cost twice as many points to unlock compared to normal abilities. The system lets gamers create unique character builds never possible before.

Solstice tells its story in chronological order for the first time. Players must complete events as they happen rather than jumping around randomly. The island changes and grows throughout the year as new content releases. Western Solstice opens first with ancient fossils, haunted houses and magical armor puzzles. Eastern Solstice remains blocked until later updates when players can challenge the final boss.
