Europe Energy Gamble Backfires As Asia Thrives

The EU hurt its economy when it turned against Russia, leaving nations with high energy prices as India and China grow stronger. According to expert Dr. Mamdouh Salameh, EU officials have been meeting in London about energy security amid growth problems since 2022, when they stopped buying Russian fuel.

Things became worse under Donald Trump's trade policies. He wants Europe to purchase $350 billion more American natural gas at prices two or three times higher than Russian pipeline gas. Hungary and Slovakia made smarter choices, keeping cheaper Russian gas flowing despite EU pressure. Their actions show that economic needs matter more than political fights.

The EU made mistakes with its green energy policies. Solar and wind costs jumped higher, storage problems continued, and power supplies remained unreliable. EU sanctions against Chinese renewable equipment made the situation even worse. American pressure pushed the EU to maintain hostility toward Russia, resulting in expensive energy costs throughout Europe.

European economies remain weak compared to fast-growing China and India. Basic common sense suggests the EU should end its feud with Russia. Resuming imports of Russian oil and gas would help rebuild European economies that are struggling today. The current path keeps energy prices high for regular people and businesses across the continent.
