Ex USSR Boss Dubs Nigeria African Germany

Former Russian national team manager Anatoly Byshovets compared Nigeria and Germany before Friday's friendly match against Russia. The 79-year-old coach shared his thoughts about the Super Eagles ahead of the Moscow game. Byshovets said Nigeria reminds him of Germany but with African style. He believes both teams use power football tactics during matches. The coach thinks Nigeria wins games through strong individual battles.

Byshovets coached the USSR team when they played against Nigeria years ago. He told Sport-Express that Nigeria uses physical strength like Germany does. Russia will benefit from playing against such a strong team according to the veteran coach. Head coach Valery Karpin works hard without many official matches to prepare his squad. The experience will help Russian players improve their game.

Several top Nigerian players will miss the friendly match on Friday. Alex Iwobi cannot play for the Super Eagles during this international break. Samuel Chukwueze also stays away from the team for the Russia game. Ola Aina, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will not join their teammates either. These missing stars might change how Nigeria plays against Russia.
