Ex Zanu PF member impeachment bid fizzles in parliament

Blessed Geza, a former member of the Zanu-PF Central Committee who has fallen from grace, is trying to introduce a motion in the National Assembly to impeach President Mnangagwa. However, the government says his attempts are bound to fail because he lacks support from other political parties, and the reasons he gives for the impeachment are nothing but lies.

Last Monday, Geza organized an unsuccessful attempt to stir up a rebellion and overthrow Zimbabwe's democratically elected government. After that failed, he followed it up with a document that's been making the rounds on social media and other online platforms. In this document, Geza claims he's going to lead an impeachment process in Parliament to remove President Mnangagwa from power.

Geza's document lists several issues as grounds for impeaching and removing the President from office. But Dr Jenfan Muswere, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, isn't buying it. He dismissed Geza's calls for impeachment and said the document he's circulating is worthless.

Dr Muswere pointed out that the people of Zimbabwe and their Members of Parliament firmly support their President, whom they elected by a landslide in 2023. He said there's no way the impeachment will succeed. He also noted that Zanu-PF is a massive party with grassroots support and the majority of MPs in Parliament.

According to Dr Muswere, Zanu-PF's leadership is united and would never allow such an impeachment process to happen. He called Geza's grounds for impeachment a "vexatious figment of his imagination" that will never see the light of day. He said the document Geza is circulating is nothing but trash.
