Ex-ZBC Icon Goredema Drops Mic Permanently at 73

Stanley Goredema passed away Tuesday at age 73 after battling sickness for many months. The veteran broadcaster breathed his last at Kutama Mission Hospital located in Zvimba district. Medical staff could not save the former ZBC employee despite their efforts. His family confirms he had been fighting illness for a long time before death came. The hospital became his final resting place during his health struggles.

Goredema built his career working for Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation as a media professional. He later moved to National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe where he served the country differently. The broadcaster helped bury national heroes during important state ceremonies. He also participated in digging up remains of liberation war fighters who died during the freedom struggle. His museum work honored fallen heroes and brought closure to families.

People close to Goredema have gathered at Musengezi Homestead to mourn his passing. The family home sits in Zvimba within Mashonaland West province where relatives are receiving visitors. Friends travel from different places to pay their respects to the departed broadcaster. The homestead serves as the center for funeral arrangements and community support. Mourners share memories of his contributions to broadcasting and heritage preservation.
