Exiled tycoon Mutumwa Mawere dies at 66

Controversial tycoon Mutumwa Mawere has died after a health battle. The Zimbabwean businessman and founder of Shabanie Mashaba Mines passed away at sixty-six years old. He had been living in exile within South Africa amid a protracted dispute with certain political figures. Mawere suffered from a severe neurological condition requiring constant medical attention.

His death occurred at a hospital in Sandton. Close associates confirmed his passing. Mawere marked his sixty-sixth birthday shortly before dying. The industrialist's complex legacy includes building a major mining conglomerate before facing legal and political challenges that forced him abroad. His illness left him in critical condition prior to his death.
