Farm Heist Mixup Sees Cops Crooks and Lobola Loot

Police caught three people last Thursday after thieves broke into a farm belonging to Wicknell Chivayo's wife's family. The suspects lived in Hopley, near Harare. Detectives from CID Stores and Business found them after investigating the case.

Another suspect remains missing. He worked as a constable at Kopje Police Station. His name is Mukuva. The law enforcement team has launched a search to locate him because he helped plan the farm attack. The group stole cash during their raid on March 18.

The robbers took US$74,100 from the property. This money came from the marriage payment Chivayo gave when he married Lucy Muteke, nicknamed Lulu. The thieves knew exactly where to find this cash when they hit the Marondera farm early that morning. The three arrested suspects must face a judge tomorrow.

Law enforcement believes around twenty criminals participated in this robbery. Many carried guns during the attack. Others brought machetes to threaten anyone who might try to stop them. The police continue hunting for the remaining seventeen people who helped steal the bride price money from Chivayo's relatives.
