Fierce storm rips Guo leaves 21 families destitute

A fierce storm hit the Guo Electoral Area Friday afternoon and damaged 21 homes across the community. Three houses suffered major destruction from the powerful winds and rain. Assembly Member Kenneth Bombieh Tengfaah said one mother with three children lost her entire home. The woman and her family must find new shelter after the disaster struck. Several other families also lost their belongings during the storm.

High-tension electricity poles crashed down and cut power to parts of the community. Residents must live without lights as they clean up the damage. The Church of Pentecost building suffered harm from the strong winds. A retired Police Chief Inspector also saw his house damaged during the weather event. People cannot use many roads because of fallen trees and power lines.

Officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation visited the area to check the damage. They want to see what kind of help families need after losing their homes. The storm lasted just a few hours but caused widespread problems for residents. Kenneth Bombieh Tengfaah asked the government and charity groups to send emergency aid. Families need temporary shelter, food and building materials to rebuild their lives.
