Final Fantasy Tactics Script Swells 60 Percent

Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles features a much larger story script than the original PlayStation game. Director Yasumi Matsuno shared details about the expanded content on social media. The Japanese script contains 60 percent more characters compared to the first version. System text and cutscenes remain separate from these new additions. Character development receives major improvements through additional conversations.

Director Kazutoyo Maehiro explained the team focused on faithful recreation of the original experience. War of the Lions content from the PSP release will not appear in this remaster. Developers wanted to preserve the authentic PlayStation version without extra features. The team faced major challenges working without original source code that had been lost over time. Programmers analyzed existing game versions and rebuilt everything from scratch.

Square Enix releases Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles across multiple platforms September 30th. PC gamers can purchase the remaster alongside console players on PlayStation and Xbox systems. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions launch simultaneously with other platforms. The expanded script offers deeper character relationships without changing core gameplay mechanics. Fans receive enhanced storytelling that stays true to the beloved tactical RPG formula.
