Firefighters hijack bikes to reach fiery car tragedy at Pantai Sungai Lurus

Firefighters discovered a fatality when flames engulfed a vehicle at Pantai Sungai Lurus beach yesterday afternoon. Emergency services received the distress call at 4:51 PM and deployed eight rescue personnel from Rengit Fire Station. Access challenges forced responders to abandon their fire engine due to the narrow coastal pathway. The rescue team borrowed motorcycles from local residents to traverse the two-kilometer distance to the burning car.

River water became the primary firefighting resource as crews used buckets to battle the blaze. One person perished inside the vehicle during the incident. Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani confirmed ongoing investigations. Authorities continue efforts to establish both victim identity and fire origin.
