Some civic group called Guardian of Truth says FIRS chairman Zacch Adedeji is still pushing forward with rolling out the new tax laws despite some lawmaker named Ikenga Ugochinyere demanding he get fired. Spokesperson Clement Kolawole basically laughed off the whole thing, and he explained that FIRS just collects taxes rather than cutting checks to government contractors.
Kolawole pointed out that the tax agency bringing in solid revenue numbers doesn't mean they're sitting on contractor money since that's not even their job. He reminded everyone that most of the cash getting distributed monthly through FAAC comes straight from what FIRS collects, and Adedeji stays locked in on making sure regular people get tax relief while businesses stop dealing with a million different taxes.
