The Labour and Employment Ministry announced that first-time workers joining EPFO will receive Rs 15,000 benefits starting August 1 through PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana. The Union Cabinet approved this employment initiative with a budget allocation of Rs 99,446 crore. Workers earning up to Rs 1 lakh annually qualify for this program designed to promote savings habits. The ministry will distribute payments in two phases after six and twelve months of employment. Recipients must complete financial literacy training before receiving their second payment.

Manufacturing companies receive extended benefits through the third and fourth years of operation. Establishments must add minimum staff numbers based on their current workforce size to participate. The government expects this scheme to generate 3.5 crore employment opportunities within two years. Nearly 1.92 crore individuals will enter the workforce as first-time beneficiaries between August 2025 and July 2027.
