Five arrested in Zimbabwe for killing relative near Guruve

A family reunion in Guruve turned into a literal murder mystery recently. Law enforcement officers took five relatives into custody for the slaying of John Chimana Chaora within Kazunga Village. The group of suspects features Kelvin Katuruza Chaora, along with Chemika Gwenzi and Bvumbe Mandeya, while Ranwes Chaora and a sixteen-year-old minor also face charges for the killing. The victim disappeared after a sighting at Bowen Shops and remained missing for several cycles before authorities tracked down his kin. Investigators located the remains of the fifty-four-year-old man in the vicinity of Ambush Dam, while also finding various personal items belonging to the deceased during the sweep of the area.

The disappearance started a massive search through the local district, as people wondered where the man had gone. His family members stayed quiet about the situation, while the community searched the surrounding woods and businesses. Once the police started digging into the movements of the close relatives, the story fell apart. The discovery of the body near the water confirmed the fears of the neighbors, who had been looking for him.

Details regarding the motive behind the violence remain hidden, while the legal process begins for the quintet. The arrest of a juvenile alongside multiple grown men suggests a coordinated effort to hide the crime. Neighbors in the village are dealing with the shock of local residents turning on their blood for unknown reasons. The state plans to release more information as the criminal case moves toward the court system.
