Flick fires up Barcelona as PSG storm brews

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick discussed his squad ahead of the Champions League group stage match against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday at Montjuic Stadium. The German coach emphasized that winning individual duels across the pitch will prove essential against the French side and dismissed questions about seeking revenge for last season's quarterfinal exit. Flick said circumstances have changed for both clubs since that encounter and stressed his team must focus on the present challenge.

The manager praised midfielder Pedri as a key leader whose opinions he values in team discussions. Flick has not finalized his central defensive pairing for the contest and expressed full confidence in all available players. He noted that defender Ronald Araujo has performed well in recent appearances and remains satisfied with the Uruguayan's contributions.

Flick addressed the form of forward Marcus Rashford and suggested the Newcastle match boosted the player's confidence as he adapts to new competition. The coach said he will assess whether to start Ferran Torres alongside Robert Lewandowski in attack. Flick cautioned against excessive praise for winger Lamine Yamal and said the teenager must continue developing both offensive skills and defensive work rate.
