Former Zanu PF legislator Tinashe Maduza appeared in court facing fraud allegations. He was granted 300 dollars in bail by Harare magistrate Apollonia Marutza. The case involves accusations that Maduza and his accomplices fraudulently sold a residential stand for 75,000 dollars.
The State alleges that Maduza presented the complainant with falsified documents for a property in Quinnington Township. After the complainant made the payment, it was later discovered that the City of Harare did not own the land. The seller became unresponsive following the transaction.
This discovery prompted the complainant to alert the police, which resulted in Maduza's arrest. The former legislator is scheduled to return to court for his next routine remand hearing. He has been instructed by the court not to contact any witnesses for the State.
