Four air quality stations in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan record unhealthy API levels

Air quality deteriorated at four monitoring locations among Malaysia's 68-station network during morning assessments. The Department of Environment's Air Pollutant Index Management System identified Negeri Sembilan and Selangor as states experiencing pollution problems. Nilai topped the unhealthy readings at 156 points, while Johan Setia registered 155. Port Dickson and Banting completed the problematic quartet with measurements of 153 and 151 respectively. The majority of monitoring sites demonstrated moderate conditions across 58 locations.

Malaysian authorities classify air quality through specific numerical ranges for public health guidance. Clean air measures between zero and 50 points, while moderate conditions span from 51 to 100. Unhealthy air quality ranges from 101 to 200 points, with very unhealthy conditions between 201 and 300. Hazardous pollution exceeds 300 points on the index scale.

Six monitoring stations achieved good air quality ratings between 37 and 49 points. These locations spanned Sarawak and Sabah states, demonstrating regional variation. Environmental officials update pollution measurements every hour through the comprehensive monitoring network.
