Four Killed in Head-On Collision on Dambai-Asukawkaw Highway

A mother and her three kids died when two vehicles crashed head-on near Abongo village Thursday afternoon. The truck driver tried to dodge a bad pothole and moved into the wrong lane without checking for cars coming the other way. A family driving a Nissan car hit the truck directly and everyone inside died right away.

The truck was hauling containers from Dambai when the driver made the deadly mistake around 4:30 in the afternoon. The car family was traveling from Kpando direction when the crash happened between Abongo and Nwane communities. A motorcycle rider saw everything happen and called for help immediately.

The Nissan driver broke his arm and got other serious injuries from the impact. Both men from the container truck also suffered bad wounds and needed emergency medical care. Ambulances rushed all three survivors to Worawora Government Hospital for treatment.

Police officers came to investigate the scene but would not talk to reporters about what caused the accident. The woman and her children's bodies went to the hospital morgue for examination. Traffic police continue looking into exactly what went wrong on the dangerous highway stretch.
