FromSoftware teases Dark Souls FMC project and Duskbloods Switch 2

FromSoftware advances development on a mysterious multiplatform title set for potential 2026 release. MP1st reports reveal the Japanese studio simultaneously manages several projects beyond their latest Elden Ring Nightreign updates and Nintendo Switch 2 title The Duskbloods. The undisclosed venture carries the codename FMC and has reached advanced production stages. Development sources suggest the project targets completion by next year barring unforeseen complications. Traditional FromSoftware naming conventions link F-prefixed codenames to Dark Souls and Armored Core franchises.

Studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki previously declared the Dark Souls series concluded, suggesting any new entry would likely emerge as either a franchise spin-off or remastered edition. Given that both original Dark Souls entries received remaster treatments, industry observers speculate the project might revitalize Dark Souls 3. Meanwhile, Elden Ring Nightreign represents FromSoftware's newest release, blending core Souls mechanics with cooperative gameplay and roguelite features. The studio continues expanding its portfolio across multiple gaming platforms and genres.
