FSSAI leads global food safety efforts, says Health Minister Nadda

Union Minister JP Nadda addressed delegates at the third Global Food Regulator Summit held at Bharat Mandapam. The Health and Family Welfare Minister declared that India's Food Safety and Standards Authority has achieved international leadership status. This regulatory body operates through the Codex Alimentarius Commission and manages global spice standards development. FSSAI coordinates regional activities across Asia while maintaining partnerships with multiple nations through formal agreements.

The organization has created fourteen international standards and modernized domestic food regulations through advanced testing methods. Nadda emphasized that dietary quality directly affects human health and mental wellbeing across populations. International food trade requires strict safety measures to prevent public health emergencies and maintain consumer confidence. Effective compliance systems build global trust between trading partners and protect reputations.
