Gabriel Sticks With Arsenal Until 2029

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes signed a fresh contract through 2029. The Brazilian already had two years left on his current deal. Manager Mikel Arteta values Gabriel as a cornerstone of his Emirates Stadium plans. The 27-year-old joined Arsenal from French club Lille during 2020 for 27 million pounds. Gabriel has played 210 games across all competitions since his arrival.

Gabriel expressed happiness about staying with the Gunners long-term. He mentioned arriving as a young player and learning plenty during nearly five years with Arsenal. The defender wants to win trophies with his beloved club. Gabriel praised the supporters and teammates at Emirates Stadium. His family shares his love for the London club.

Gabriel teams with William Saliba to form Arsenal's central defensive partnership since 2022. The Brazilian creates danger during set-piece situations with his attacking threat. A hamstring injury sidelined Gabriel during the final two months of last season. Arsenal struggled without their key defender and lost ground during the Premier League title chase. Paris Saint-Germain knocked Arsenal out of Champions League semifinals after defeating them.

Arsenal pursues Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi for their squad. The Gunners also want to add a new striker before the transfer window closes.
