Galaxy S26 to launch in February with slimmer design, AI focus

Samsung plans to unveil its Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup at a February 25, 2026, event in San Francisco, marking the company's return to that city after three years. Tipster Ice Universe suggests the base S26 model will measure 6.9 millimeters in thickness compared with 7.2 millimeters for the current S25, representing approximately a 4 percent reduction that could affect battery size given the existing 4,000 milliampere-hour capacity. Design changes include a vertical camera arrangement departing from the past three generations' flat rear surfaces.

The South Korean manufacturer aims to sell 35 million S26 units overall, with 24 million targeted during the first half of 2026 versus 22 million S25 devices sold in the equivalent 2025 period. The Ultra variant will feature noticeably rounded corners rather than the angular design associated with the discontinued Note lineup.
