Galaxy Z Fold 7 Could Score Ultra Fast Qi12 Charging

Samsung prepares for Galaxy Unpacked 2025 next month where the company will show new foldable phones. People want to see changes Samsung makes to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Reports shared many details about the upcoming fold models. A new database entry shows key facts about wireless charging for the new foldable device. The Wireless Power Consortium database lists a mystery Samsung device with model number SM-D637U.

Samsung usually avoids these model numbers but has used similar patterns to hide new devices before launch. The company wants to keep the foldable phone secret until the official announcement. The SM-D637U likely matches the SM-F967U for American buyers. Database information suggests Samsung will add Qi12 wireless charging support to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could become the first foldable phone with Qi12 Ready certification. Qi12 Ready differs from regular Qi12 wireless charging because it needs a magnetic case and limits speed to 15W. The device should keep the same 4,400mAh battery size as the previous model. Samsung will probably stick with 25W wired charging speeds for the new foldable phone.
