Gambia Makes Waves at Sea Trade Tourism Expo in Miami

Gambia made waves at the Sea Trade Exhibition in Miami last week. The tourism team talked with cruise companies from April 7 to 10, 2025. PS Cordu Jabang Senghore led the group representing The Smiling Coast of Africa. The Gambia Tourism Board partnered with the Gambia Ports Authority to discuss sea trade growth. They focused on expanding tourism through Banjul Port City.

Tourism Board Director Abubacarr Camara met with a travel agency already working in Gambia. The agency wants to add more airlines for tourists coming to the country. Their representatives plan to visit Gambia soon about these ideas. Namibia's Tourism Board praised Gambia for its tourism success over many years. Adama Njie from GTBoard UK talked about working together across Africa, especially using rivers for tourism.

Marketing Officer Haddy Darboe told the media about Gambia's cruise tourism plans. She talked up the country's culture, birds, and river attractions for cruise ships. Everyone agreed Gambia stood out at the exhibition as an exciting tourism destination. US representative Tala Jobe called the event great for exploring river tourism opportunities worldwide. The Gambian team included leaders from tourism training institutes, port officials Landing Sanyang, and Kulah Manneh.
