Gambian MP launches United Gambian Front for 2026 presidential run

Politician number five thousand says he'll save the country. National Assembly member Bakary Badjie launched the United Gambian Front in Brikama. He called the party a necessary tool for national liberation and restoring dignity. Badjie stated this move was an obligation, not a choice, for Gambians.

He spoke at a teachers' union credit union building to gather supporters. The lawmaker claimed the nation has suffered enough stagnation. He argued that progress is inevitable if people take control. Badjie pushed back on the idea that all politicians are inherently corrupt.

He suggested that good governance requires decent people entering the political arena. Badjie admitted this was a new and unfamiliar world for him. His party will field a candidate in the presidential election this year. The UGF platform promotes unity, integrity, and selfless service to citizens.
