David Leitch has agreed to direct the Gears of War movie for Netflix. He made action movies like Deadpool 2 and The Fall Guy before taking this job. His company, 87North Productions, will make the film with game maker The Coalition. Leitch must finish his bank robbery film project before starting work on Gears of War. Writer Jon Spaihts continues developing the script after two years of effort.
