Germany Hit by Injury Crisis Ahead of Portugal Clash

Germany lost another player before their Nations League semifinal against Portugal on Wednesday. Jonathan Burkhardt cannot play because he hurt his ankle during training. The striker had just joined the team as a replacement for Angelo Stiller. Coach Julian Nagelsmann decided not to call up anyone else for the squad. The German team roster dropped to just 24 available players.

Nadim Amiri also left the training camp after picking up an injury. The German Football Association made these announcements on Sunday afternoon. Jan Bisseck from Inter Milan was removed from the squad earlier. Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer will take his place on the team. These injuries create serious problems for Nagelsmann ahead of the important match.

The winner between Germany and Portugal will advance to the Nations League final. France and Spain play each other during the other semifinal match. The victorious teams from both games will meet for the championship. Germany faces mounting pressure with their reduced squad size. Portugal may have an advantage with their healthier roster for Wednesday's clash.
