Geza's Home Attacked with Petrol Bombs Ahead of Protest

Someone threw petrol bombs at Blessed Geza's house on March 28, 2025, in Sanyati. This happened just three days before big protests planned for March 31. Geza leads these protests against President Mnangagwa, who wants to stay president past his legal term limit. The attackers had already broken windows at Geza's large property last week.

Journalist Hopewell Chin'ono shared news about the attack on social media. The violence shows how tense politics have become in Zimbabwe lately. Geza earned the nickname "Bombshell" because he spoke boldly against the government. He worked as a secret service officer before he started fighting corruption.

Geza demands that President Mnangagwa step down when his second term ends in 2028. The constitution says presidents can only serve two terms. Earlier this year, ZANU-PF kicked Geza out after he publicly challenged Mnangagwa. He called the upcoming protests an "uprising" and asked all Zimbabweans to join the streets.

A fierce battle rages inside the ruling ZANU-PF party between Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga. Chiwenga helped remove former president Robert Mugabe in 2017. Many people expected Chiwenga would become president after Mnangagwa finished his term. The president recently fired Lieutenant General Anselem Sanyatwe, who supported Chiwenga.

Police hunt for Geza, saying he caused violence and disrespected the president. Despite threats, Geza stayed brave. He made a video saying he remains safe and dared Mnangagwa to face him directly. Civil rights groups asked for an investigation into the petrol bomb attack. Most people doubt anyone will face punishment for attacking Geza's home.

Countries around the world watch Zimbabwe closely as March 31 approaches. The nation suffers from terrible money problems with high prices and few jobs. What happens at these protests might change Zimbabwe's future. The attack looks planned to scare people from joining Geza's protests against the president.
