Ghana Black Queens coach eyes fresh faces for WAFCON

Ghana's women's football coach wants to shake things up for upcoming games. Kim Lars Bjorkegren thinks about changing players as his team prepares for the big African tournament. The Black Queens crushed Malawi 3-0 during their first practice match on Saturday. Several key players have not joined the group because they still play for their regular teams. The coach feels confident about making adjustments when everyone arrives.

Club teams must release international players on June 23rd. Ghana expects six or seven more talented women to join the squad after that date. Bjorkegren believes he can switch out two or three players without losing team strength. The coach trusts his deep roster of skilled athletes. He knows Ghana has enough quality to handle player rotations.

The team faces Benin during their second friendly match on Wednesday. After that game, Ghana will test themselves against Nigeria for their final warm-up. The Black Queens want to make a strong comeback at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana missed the last tournament back in 2018 and feels eager to return. The players and coaches hope to impress fans with their performance at the continental championship.
