Ghana-China Summit Gears Up for Big Trade Deals

Ghana will host a major business summit with China from June 23rd to 28th this year. President John Dramani Mahama will open the event on Monday to kick things off. The summit focuses on strengthening trade relationships between both countries. Leaders want to create a 24-hour economy through better partnerships. Over 70 top business executives from China and Ghana will attend.

Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare will speak about maximizing trade potential between the nations. She plans to discuss reducing barriers that hurt business growth. The minister will highlight chances for Chinese investment in key Ghanaian sectors. Her speech will cover industrial development and agricultural improvements. She wants to show how both countries can work together better.

Dr Toni Aubynn from the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation will talk about energy cooperation. He will explain how Ghana's petroleum hub can boost economic ties with China. GCB Bank's Managing Director Farihan Alhassan will discuss banking partnerships. The summit brings together government officials and private sector leaders. Chinese Ambassador Tong-Defa and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah will join other high-profile guests at the gathering.
