Ghana promises full support for Chinese investors at Accra summit

Ghana wants more Chinese companies to start businesses there. Julius Debrah works as the top assistant to President Mahama. He spoke at a big meeting between Ghana and China on Monday. Debrah told Chinese business people that Ghana will help them succeed. The president sent this message through his chief helper.

More than 560 Chinese companies have signed up to work in Ghana. About 100 factories already belong to Chinese owners there. These numbers come from Ghana's business records office. The country sits in a perfect spot for trade across West Africa. Ghana has steady politics and good airports and shipping ports.

Debrah wants Chinese makers to build assembly plants in Ghana. These factories could make products for other West African countries. The government promises to welcome and support any Chinese company that wants to build there. They will push hard to make these businesses work well. Ghana plans to help companies run longer hours with special rewards.

The meeting lasts five days and focuses on making stronger business ties. Ghana and China want to create new chances for trade and investment. They hope to work together in making things, farming, tourism, and technology. The government calls this plan a 24-hour economy because businesses can operate around the clock. Both countries have been friends for many years and want to do more business together.
