GIGABYTE Launches Compact RTX 5050 OC Low Profile Card with Triple-Fan Cooling

GIGABYTE released a new graphics card designed for small computers. The company made the RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G without making any major announcements. This graphics card measures only 182mm long and fits inside tiny computer cases. The card uses three fans to keep cool despite its small size. GIGABYTE managed to add an extra fan compared to their older RTX 3050 model without making the card much bigger.

NVIDIA announced the RTX 5050 graphics card yesterday for both laptops and desktop computers. Desktop versions will appear in stores next month. Computer companies have started showing their custom versions of the new graphics card. The RTX 5050 uses less power than other graphics cards, which lets companies make smaller cooling systems. GIGABYTE took advantage of this to create their compact design.

The graphics card comes with 8GB of fast memory and connects through a PCIe 5.0 slot. GIGABYTE has not revealed the exact speed settings for their overclocked version. The card should run faster than the standard version that NVIDIA makes. The graphics card needs 130 watts of power and requires a 550-watt power supply. GIGABYTE recommends the same power supply size that NVIDIA suggests.

The cooling system uses special heat-transfer gel that touches the graphics chip directly. Copper pipes move heat away from the chip to aluminum cooling fins. The three fans blow air through these fins to remove heat from the card. The cooling design works well for the power-efficient RTX 5050 chip. The graphics card connects to monitors through two HDMI ports and two DisplayPort connections.
