Gigabyte RTX50 Gel Leak Freaks Out Fans

Gigabyte has confirmed thermal gel leakage issues with early production batches of NVIDIA RTX 50 series GPUs. The company attributed the problem to the overapplication of thermal conductivity gel in initial manufacturing runs.

Gigabyte claims the excessive gel does not impact GPU performance, reliability, or lifespan. The leakage appears cosmetic, with gel potentially spreading beyond its intended area. The manufacturer has adjusted gel application in subsequent production runs to prevent future occurrences.

The thermal gel can reportedly withstand temperatures up to 150°C before becoming liquid. Gigabyte has not clarified whether warranty coverage will apply to affected GPUs. Future GPU units are expected to have resolved the thermal gel application issue.
