Gilbert Arenas denies snitching in NBA gambling probe

Gilbert Arenas rejected speculation about his connection to an FBI gambling investigation on Thursday through his podcast Gil's Arena. FBI Director Kash Patel announced arrests of more than 30 individuals, among them Portland coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat player Terry Rozier, for sports betting and poker violations. Arenas carried a paper bag marked Informant Lunch as a joke while denying any cooperation with authorities.

The former basketball player criticized ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols for implying his involvement in the case. Arenas said the arrested individuals bet on NBA games or manipulated poker contests and insisted he had no role. The host mocked media coverage that described the investigation as organized crime while showing photographs of Black suspects.

Arenas referenced his July 2025 arrest in Los Angeles for allegedly operating an illegal gambling business. He said at that time he had no involvement, despite joking about informing on a livestream.
