Cops in Kampala are looking into how an eleven-year-old girl died. Her body was found inside a taxi at the Old Taxi Park. The police spokesperson, SP Rachael Kawala, said it happened at the Tororo Stage. The driver, Kalulu Bosco, had been given the child the day before by a guide named Asuman. She was supposed to go to Walusubi in Mukono District.
The driver had two phone numbers for the person who was supposed to pick her up. When he got to Walusubi after midnight, he could not reach anyone. One phone was off. Someone answered the other but claimed it was a wrong number. The driver then brought the girl all the way back to Kampala. She stayed in the taxi overnight. The vehicle is a Toyota Hiace with the plate UBM 696P, which people call a Drone. In the morning, a passenger noticed the girl was not moving.
Police were called and took the body to the city morgue for an autopsy. They are treating it as a sudden death. The child was traveling alone without any family. In her things, they found a paper with the two numbers and a yellow shirt from St. Anthony Parents Mukono school. The shirt had the name Kiiza written on it. Officers are still trying to figure out who she is and find her relatives. Police are telling parents to never let kids travel without a responsible adult watching them.
