GOIL Slashes Fuel Costs Traders Cry Foul

Nandom Paramount Chief Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII praised GOIL PLC for cutting fuel prices across Ghana. The traditional leader called the price reduction a good act that deserves appreciation from citizens. He urged trading communities to respond positively to government policies that help the economy grow stronger. GOIL reduced Super XP prices from 13.27 cedis per liter to 12.52 cedis starting June 2. Diesel XP fell from 13.87 cedis to 12.98 cedis and Super XP 95 went from 15.27 cedis to 14.34 cedis per liter.

Company management said smart business practices allowed them to share profits with loyal customers who buy fuel regularly. The chief wants other oil companies to follow GOIL's example and reduce prices when conditions improve. Transport unions responded well to the cedi's strength and fuel cuts reducing fares across the country. Ghana Federation of Labour Secretary General Abraham Koomson commended GOIL for leading the profit sharing process among oil marketing companies.

Koomson challenged traders to cut goods prices since economic conditions improved under current government leadership. The cedi gained value against foreign currencies and fuel costs keep falling steadily. Transport operators reduced fares but traders refuse to lower prices for basic goods and services. Government officials must pressure traders to share benefits with ordinary consumers who struggle with high costs.
