Gold Stars dump Frimpong Manso after Kabylie loss

Bibiani Gold Stars terminated head coach Frimpong Manso following strategic disagreements between his approach and the club's future objectives. Public Relations Officer Samuel Kwagyire announced the decision after the team suffered a 2-0 defeat against JS Kabylie from Algeria in their inaugural CAF Champions League appearance. The dismissal occurred just months after Manso successfully guided the club to their maiden league championship in May. Assistant coach Nana Yaw Amankwah assumes temporary leadership for the upcoming return match in Algeria.

Kwagyire emphasized that management respected Manso's achievements but determined his coaching philosophy conflicted with organizational plans. The club maintained that workplace standards and ethical conduct required alignment with their established roadmap. Officials stressed the separation reflected philosophical differences rather than questions about Manso's coaching capabilities. Leadership concluded that divergent ideologies prevented continued collaboration despite acknowledging his valuable contributions to the team's historic success.
